What is Executive Coaching?

As an Executive Coach I act as a sounding board; challenge thinking, stimulate creativity, suggest tools and techniques for handling tricky situations, give encouragement and build confidence. A powerful working partnership is developed and Coaching can have dramatic effects on the performance of individuals and in turn, on organisational success.

Why should you engage an Executive Coach?

Do you want to make more rapid progress towards your professional goals? Do you want to improve organisational effectiveness? Do you want to enhance your strategic thinking? Do you need to develop your executive presence? Do you want to deal more effectively with conflict, conduct tough conversations and build an effective team?

Well, you could attend courses or residential programmes, although you have probably already tried that and found the results short-lived at best and an imposition into your already busy schedule at worst. Executive Coaching can give you profound and sustainable development that pays back year after year. Rather than you having to fit into a course schedule, coaching sessions are fitted around your diary.

My approach is to:

  • Provide a safe, confidential space to work on business challenges and stretch your thinking on options.
  • Encourage reflection on habits, behaviours and limiting beliefs that may be getting in the way of top performance.
  • Talk through what is keeping you awake at night, help you to think the unthinkable, work through alternatives and rehearse your next steps.
  • Help newly-appointed senior leaders to tackle the complexities of their new roles.
  • Support clients who are progressing from professional expert into leadership and management.

Coaching enhances high performance, in a similar way to how an elite athlete uses a coach. As an international triathlete I understand how to utilise 'mind strength' to successfully work through the most pressured situations. I will support you to develop and be the very best you can be. You will find Executive Coaching a stimulating, enriching and enjoyable experience.

The format of Executive Coaching is based on a number of sessions, which are determined by the client's agenda and needs. Each session is usually two hours and takes place in an agreed location.

I am incredibly enthusiastic about working with Liz as a coach. Liz has provided a completely independent sounding board for my thought and ideas. The coaching sessions gave me the opportunity to think aloud, at length and come up with ideas that I would never have gestated without the space I had in a coaching session. I chose to take up coaching with Liz because I've always thought it important to reflect on the decisions and actions you take. I hope I have the opportunity to continue with coaching for as long as I work. Coaching is like holding a mirror to yourself; your coach doesn't provide you with the answer but helps you to arrive at an answer by yourself, which is actually more empowering. Liz's dedication to the role of my coach has been truly exceptional.

I saw Liz when I was career transitioning and she enabled me to focus on what I valued and enjoyed in doing in work. Liz sessions gave me the confidence and focus to secure my current senior role.

Liz sessions enabled me to shine a light on what is important to me and set clear goals to achieve my career aspirations. As a result I secured my perfect job.

I would highly recommend Liz for her breadth of experience and ability to cut through the noise. Working with Liz Clegg was the best career investment I ever made.
